Small repairs become easier to quote when the work is clearly described. Use this guide to organize painting, drywall and general repair needs for a home, rental or commercial property, then request an introduction to an independent provider through Red Stick Property Services.
Request a provider introduction
Residential painting and drywall projects
For a room repaint, identify walls, ceilings, trim and doors separately. Note whether rooms are furnished, who supplies the paint, the desired finish and any color changes. For drywall damage, include a wide photo of the wall or ceiling, a close-up and approximate dimensions.
Ask whether patching, texture matching, priming and repainting the surrounding area are included. If a stain or damaged area may involve an active leak, explain that before requesting cosmetic repairs so the provider can determine what assessment is needed first.
Commercial repairs and repainting
For offices, storefronts and common areas, define the rooms or surfaces and approximate size. Tell the provider whether staff, tenants or customers will remain in the space. Identify access windows, furniture protection, cleanup expectations and any phased-work requirements.
Commercial requests should include a bid deadline, approval contact and required insurance or vendor documentation. A small repair provider is not automatically equipped for a complete commercial buildout; matching depends on the actual scope and capacity.
Build one repair list
- Drywall patches, damaged corners and cosmetic finish repairs.
- Interior paint touch-ups or room repainting.
- Doors, hinges, trim and cabinet hardware.
- Caulking, weatherstripping and general punch-list items.
- Rental handback repairs to assess before the next tenancy.
List each task, its location and any materials already purchased. For work involving electrical, plumbing, structural or other specialist systems, identify it clearly so the appropriate provider and credentials can be assessed. A general handyman request is not a promise that one person can perform every trade.
Compare estimates on the same scope
Check whether an estimate includes materials, surface preparation, finish work, protection, cleanup and disposal. Ask about minimum charges and how changes discovered during the job will be priced and authorized. Compare the full scope, rather than an hourly rate alone.
We do not guarantee prices, licensing status or scheduling on behalf of independent providers. Confirm those details directly before hiring.
Questions before submitting
Can I combine several small jobs?
Yes. Submit one organized list and identify your priorities. The provider will confirm which tasks it can accept.
Can a business request work outside opening hours?
Yes. State the required hours in the request. Availability must be confirmed before booking.
Who quotes and completes the work?
An independent provider. RSPS helps organize the inquiry and make an introduction; the provider sets its terms and is responsible for fulfillment.
