Planning an AC repair, replacement or maintenance visit in the Baton Rouge area? Prepare the equipment details and symptoms before requesting an independent HVAC provider. RSPS is an information and referral website, not an HVAC contractor or emergency dispatch service.
Request a provider introduction — choose “Other project” and describe the HVAC work.
AC repair requests
Describe what you observe: the system will not start, cooling is uneven, airflow seems weak or the equipment is making an unusual sound. Include the equipment model and approximate age if known, when the problem started and any recent service history. A qualified provider must diagnose the cause; these observations alone do not identify the repair.
Replacement and installation projects
Tell the provider whether you are replacing existing equipment or planning a new installation. Ask for the proposed equipment, sizing assessment, scope of duct or electrical work, disposal, exclusions and warranty terms in writing. Request an explanation of repair and replacement options based on the actual system condition.
Maintenance and recurring service
For routine maintenance, list the number of systems, locations and any access restrictions. Ask what inspections, cleaning and consumables are included and which repairs require separate approval. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s maintenance guidance and the provider’s assessment.
Homes, commercial spaces and rentals
Commercial and multifamily requests should identify the building use, occupied areas, number of systems, allowed service hours and vendor documentation requirements. Do not assume that every residential provider also handles commercial equipment.
Who estimates and performs the work?
The independent provider you choose. Confirm its applicable qualifications, licenses, insurance, diagnostic charges, availability and written terms before hiring. RSPS may receive a referral fee from a participating provider. A request does not guarantee a match, price or appointment.
